In 1991 I was working as a research assistant at the National Research Centre in Egypt and my supervisor gave me a piece of paper that said: “This is your research focus. Mushrooms can treat cancer.”
Since then, I have worked on mushroom data and have collected thousands of articles, publishing more than 50 myself with a team of peer scientists and own several patents on anticancer agents of mushroom glucans (a soluble fiber that carries powerful benefits).
I fell in love with mushrooms! Not only for their healing properties but because they are so fascinating on many levels! My enthusiasm rubbed off and people started calling me “The Mushroom Man”. Now I want to be The Mushroom Medicine Man because mushrooms can help heal us and make our lives better.
I want to use this website to document the areas that interest me, but also to engage the community and have fun with the Mushroom World. Click around on the site and let me know what you think. You are welcome to submit an article to our blog. (Use the Contact Page) Just let me know what you would like to write about and I will get back to you. Over time, this will become a repository of ideas, knowledge, creativity, and we will mushroom in our understanding of the world!
